Environmental Progress
The 1990s saw a great deal of environmental progress at LORD. Much of this progress was achieved with capital projects.
- Completed commercial manufacturing facility for waterborne rubber-to-metal adhesives.
- Converted all electrical transformers to PCB-free status.
- Upgraded or removed all underground tanks.
- Replaced all coal boilers with natural gas boilers.
- Replaced all earthen dikes with concrete dikes around chemical tank farms.
- Replaced all chlorinated solvent degreasing units with alkaline degreasing units.
- Implemented wastewater recycling at two manufacturing facilities.
