Environmental Progress

The 1990s saw a great deal of environmental progress at LORD. Much of this progress was achieved with capital projects.

• Completed commercial manufacturing facility for waterborne rubber-to-metal adhesives.
• Converted all electrical transformers to PCB-free status.
• Upgraded or removed all underground tanks.
• Replaced all coal boilers with natural gas boilers.
• Replaced all earthen dikes with concrete dikes around chemical tank farms.
• Replaced all chlorinated solvent degreasing units with alkaline degreasing units.
• Implemented wastewater recycling at two manufacturing facilities.
