Design Proves Optimal for Business, Caribou, Eskimos and Environment
When one of the largest oil companies in the world began planning the new pipeline that would run across Alaska’s Endicott and Badami oil fields, a five-foot ground clearance was essential so that migrating caribou and Eskimos could pass under it. LORD provided the company with a tuned absorber that allows enough clearance for both animals and people. In addition, the isolator was designed to ensure that the pipe would not move and welds would not break, even under the harshest conditions. The oil company was able to not only complete construction, but provide a responsible solution for the environment, animals and people.
