Reducing Labor Costs Provides Sizeable Return for Trailer Manufacturer
(03/09/2010)

Although one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of custom aluminum trailers was initially skeptical about using a structural adhesive in place of welding on their trailer doors, rising labor costs served as an impetus for change. During two years of testing, our doors consistently outperformed welded, taped and riveted doors. With double the impact resistance, the LORD-bonded doors were four times stiffer than the company’s welded doors. Today, not only has the manufacturer reduced labor by 50 percent, but they also benefit from considerable materials savings.
