LORD Corporation Seam Sealer Approved in GM Bulletin

LORD Corporation, maker of Fusor® Automotive Repair Adhesives — the leading metal and composite bonding solution for automotive body repair — has announced that Fusor Sprayable 804 (Grey) and 805 (Black) have been recommended by General Motors (GM) as suitable Liquid Applied Sound Deadening (LASD) Materials.
As found in GM Technical Service Bulletin No. 07-08-51-001 (March 2007), the application pertains to the 2008 Buick Enclave; 2007 Cadillac Escalade Models; 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe; 2007 GMC Acadia, Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali, Yukon Denali XL; and the 2007 Saturn OUTLOOK. Each of these vehicles has sound dampening materials applied during production, which must be replaced if repair work forces affected panel replacements.
According to Jim Perritt, Manager, Global Marketing and North American Sales, LORD Fusor 804 and 805 Sprayable Seam Sealer and Sound Deadener were designed for use in creating OEM textured seams. The solvent-free products remain flexible and create OEM textured seams. Further, the products can be used to restore rocker panel chip guard texture and trunk area texture, as well as duplicate OEM sound deadening material on interior surfaces of floor plans and other panels. Offered in gray and black, it is paintable immediately following application or within four days.
“LORD Fusor 804 and 805 products match factory-applied floor pan seams, trunk seams as well as other textures and patterns that are impossible to duplicate with ordinary seam sealers,” said Perritt. “There is no need for tooling and the product can be painted immediately — allowing technicians to bring cars back to factory, pre-accident condition with reduced repair cycle times.“
