LORD Corporation's Sadd Invited to Speak at 2012 AICHE Conference

LORD Corporation – a leader in the management of motion, vibration and noise, and a supplier of adhesive products – has announced that Vince Sadd, director, Global Business Development, will speak at the AIChE Spring Meeting & 8th Global Congress on Process Safety.
The meeting will be held April 1-5 at the Hilton Americas-Houston and George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Sadd's topic is entitled "Leveraging Open Innovation – Experiences in the Small Business Universe."
According to Sadd, the requirement to achieve tangible business growth is increasingly important in today's global economy.
"No longer can companies afford to rely only upon internal research and development and minor product modifications to achieve profitable growth," he said.
Sadd's presentation will share insights into how LORD Corporation has embraced the challenge of Open Innovation to partner with small businesses using an approach that ultimately benefits both parties. Open Innovation is a business practice that acknowledges the importance of using external experts to assist companies with product design and development. Companies that have garnered the most success from Open Innovation have developed processes to work with knowledgeable outside sources. Lessons learned from real-world experiences will be shared.
Working for LORD Corporation since 2004, Sadd is responsible for leading a team of professionals charged with growing business in the energy sector which includes, wind, solar and oil & gas. Throughout his business career, he has worked with leading Fortune 500 companies to develop, deliver and manage technical solutions for global customers.
Sadd joined LORD from BAE Systems (formerly British Aerospace) where he served in a variety of leadership positions in marketing and business development. Prior to BAE Systems, he held progressive manufacturing, marketing, and product assurance as well as program management positions at Honeywell, having P&L responsibility for Honeywell's Guidance and Navigation products. Prior to his business career, Sadd served in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, in positions of increasing responsibility. He was also Commanding Officer of two Naval Reserve Units.
He earned a bachelor's degree from the United States Naval Academy with further professional training in Honeywell's Advanced Program for International Managers.
