Ed Staquet, Technical Support Manager for LORD Corporation, maker of Fusor® Automotive Repair Adhesives — the leading metal and composite bonding solution for automotive body repair — has been awarded 2007 Instructor of the year by the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR).
A gold class trainer for I-CAR, Staquet is well-known in the industry for his training efforts. As the first adhesive company to offer curriculum by I-CAR through the Industry Training Alliance program, LORD has more than 12,000 graduates of its training programs. Technicians who complete the hands-on Fusor 001 Bonding/Repair Curriculum qualify to earn I-CAR Gold Class Points, while learning valuable skills which improve quality and reduce cycle times in the repair process.
With more than 40 years of experience in the auto body industry, Staquet previously served two consecutive terms (2000 to 2006) on the I-CAR International Board of Directors. In 2004, Staquet was selected for the I-CAR Hall of Fame. A member of the body shop business industry since he was 13, Staquet said he started out pushing a broom and then worked his way up to perform basic body work, heavy wreck repairs and then managed a body shop before joining LORD in 1992.
"It doesn't seem like my experience with I-CAR has spanned 27 years," said Staquet. "The time has been fun and I am honored with this recognition and I look forward to the future."
