LORD Corporation's Carney To Present at American Chemical Society Rubber Expo

LORD Corporation has announced that Brian Carney, Staff Scientist, will be presenting at the 2012 American Chemical Society (ACS) Rubber Expo™, Technical Meeting and Educational Symposium.
The presentation will be held Oct. 9-11 at The Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is titled, "New NBR/HNBR Adhesives for Oil/Gas Drilling Applications." Authored by Carney and Jim Halladay, Senior Technology Fellow, the presentation will cover industry trends, a review of elastomers and adhesives, bonding theory, adhesive end use and application, failure modes and environmental testing. Carney joined LORD Corporation in 1990 and has 22 years of experience in the Elastomer, Adhesives and Coating Technology division. In his current role, he is responsible for developing both aqueous and solvent based adhesives, primers, and intermediates for rubber-to-metal bonding applications. Carney has authored and co-authored several technical papers and he graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1988.Halladay joined LORD Corporation in 1981 and has 36 years of experience in the rubber industry. Currently, he is a Senior Technology Fellow specializing in formulating elastomers for dynamic applications. Within LORD, he is responsible for compound and process development of elastomers for applications involving vibration isolation and control. Halladay has authored or co-authored numerous technical papers and holds 15 U.S. patents relating to part designs, coatings, adhesives and rubber formulations.
