International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR)

  • ITAR applies to all defense articles or defense services, including related technical data and software. Defense articles and defense services are those articles and services specially designed, developed, configured, adapted or modified for military use that either: 1) do not have a predominant civil application and do not have a civil performance equivalent; or 2) have had significant military and intelligence capability. ITAR generally requires a license for the export of such items, subject to certain limited exceptions.
  • Exports of items subject to ITAR are controlled by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) of the Department of State. Those items designated as “defense articles” or “defense services” are set forth on the U.S. Munitions List (USML).
  • All manufacturers, exporters and brokers of defense articles, defense services or related technical data, as defined on the USML, are required to register with DDTC. Details regarding DDTC and registration can be found at http://www.pmddtc.state.gov/.

No, the spec revision must agree with the spec revision (or range of revisions) specified in LORD Corporation’s Specification Index. If you do not meet this requirement, you must submit a Supplier Request (SR Form 655) detailing the reason for your request and the corrective actions implemented to eliminate the need for such a request in the future. You will receive a copy of the SR after it is dispositioned. A copy of the approved SR must accompany the shipment, or the shipment will be rejected upon receipt.

Use the revision level identified on Sheet 1 of the drawing, as Sheet 1 is the controlling revision for all LORD drawings. Sheets 1A, 1B, 1C, etc. are all considered part of Sheet 1. Each additional sheet of the drawing (sheet 2, sheet 3, etc.) has its own revision. Please note the revision level of these additional sheets may not be the same as the revision level of sheet 1. The revision levels of the additional sheets of the drawing are identified in the upper right hand corner of sheet 1A.
